The pediatric critical care unit provides patient care for critically ill and injured children in a multidisciplinary, family-centered care environment at Batson Children's Hospital..
The unit provides critical and intermediate care services for neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal/genitourinary and orthopaedic, complex congenital anomalies, traumatic and accidental injuries and /or multi-system involvement.
The clinical team is led by four board-certified pediatric intensivists. A multidisciplinary approach is used, combining the skills of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, social workers, clergy and ancillary personnel to provide the best possible care for the children.
